The Jacobs' are psychotherapists in private practice in northern
New Jersey. Together they have more than sixty years experience
working with children, adults, and families.
Renee Jacobs is a Clinical Social Worker. Trained
in a family systems approach, she has also been certified
in Ericksonian Hynotherapy and in the body-centered psychotherapeutic
approach called Rubenfeld
Synergy Method®. Renee has created a number of

parenting workshops beginning in the late 1970's, working
with organizations like Junior League and National Council
of Jewish Women. Since 1980 she has been involved with the
Jersey Battered Womens Services as consultant, board member,
President of the Board, and non-resident therapist. She continues
to make presentations to local groups and organizations.
Dale Jacobs, a Child Psychiatrist, in addition to
his private practice, is a consultant to over thirty school
districts providing neuropsychiatric evaluations for Child
Study teams. He offers medical evaluations and follow-up care,
is a part-time consultant to a special needs private school,
and gives staff trainings to schools and clinics. While attending
medical school, he met Renee who was an undergraduate student.
Dale, Renee and their three children all graduated from the
University of Michigan, followed by five other relatives.
They are co-authors of two books, often give workshops together,
and are now offering intense, three-hour couples marital sessions
as part of ongoing therapy. They also are involved with NJSEEDS
organization, offering staff trainings, parent counseling,
evaluations and therapy for some of the students.
The Jacobs' met when Dale was in medical school and Renee
an undergraduate at the University of Michigan. Their three
children followed the University of Michigan tradition as
have other relatives. The Jacobs love spending time with their
children, their spouses and all the grandchildren!
